About the translator

Gopiparanadhana Dasa, is a scholar of Sanskrit and a practicing Vaishnava. Born in 1950 in New York City, he received his B.A. in linguistics from Columbia University in 1972. He then served as a Sanskrit editor for the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) while continuing his Sanskrit studies. He later worked as a member of a three-man team to translate and write commentaries on Cantos 10-12 of the Bhagavat Purana (Srimad-Bhagavatam), Mukunda-mala-stotra, and Narada-bhakti-sutra. He is currently translating Jiva Gosvami’s Sat-sandarbhas. Gopiparanadhana has also co-founded the Srimad Bhagavata Vidyapithama Sanksrit School in India to train Sanskrit translators and editors.
